Don
DePaolo has taught and conducted research at UC Berkeley and LBNL
since 1988. He established and now directs the Center for Isotope Geochemistry
(CIG),
a joint research facility crossing the institutional boundaries
of UC Berkeley and LBNL, with several scientists, lab
managers/technicians and computer support, and six mass spectrometers
[see Labs for more about the
equipment and capabilities].

Teaching
Prof.
DePaolo teaches courses on geochemistry (EPS
124/224), introductory upper division petrology (EPS
100B: about rock identification and how rocks are formed; EPS 102: History and Evolution of Planet Earth), and occasionally
one of the popular EPS
39 freshman seminars or the upper division field trip courses
(EPS
119). He currently supervises four graduate students and two postdoctoral researchers.
