Professor Dreger received his Ph.D. in seismology from the California Institute of Technology in 1992. He has been a member of the department since 1996, and an affiliate of the Berkeley Seismological Laboratory since 1992. His research interests are in the areas of seismic wave propagation, earthquake and non-earthquake seismic source processes, and in the development of methods for the reduction of earthquake losses and realtime earthquake monitoring.
