Earth and Planetary Science Ph.D. Candidate Jacob Edman Rocks His Exit Seminar To A Packed House

Friday, November 3, 2017

Earth and Planetary Science Ph.D. candidate Jacob Edman presented his exit seminar (Convection and gravity waves in the tropical atmosphere) to a packed house that included staff, faculty, students, and members of his family.

During his studies at Berkeley, Jacob developed a new form of the weak-pressure-gradient approximation used in cloud-resolving and single-column simulations to predict large-scale circulations in the air.

Before taking center stage, Earth and Planetary Science Professor David Romps (the faculty advisor for Jacob) and fellow Ph.D. candidate Stephanie Wuerth shared funny stories about Jacob highlighting his career and musical talents.
