Make a Gift

We deeply appreciate your generosity to the Department of Earth & Planetary Science. Your gift can create and support academic opportunities for our undergraduate and graduate students as well as enhance the research efforts of our students and faculty. Your support is invaluable to us.

In addition to donating online, contributions can be mailed to the department. Checks should be made out to "UC Berkeley Foundation" and addressed to Donor and Gift Services, 1995 University Ave. Suite 400, Berkeley, CA, 94704-1070. Write "Friends of EPS" on the check note line for funds to be directed to The Friends of Earth and Planetary Science Fund. With a note, they can be directed to any of the funds listed below.

This fund is invaluable for our department's activities. It provides funds for emergency student aid, supports collegial activities in support of education and research as well as equipment and facilities upgrades; enables student activities such as field trips and the yearly Santa Barbara's Day event; provides a monetary award to the winner of the Departmental Citation; supports alumni outreach; defrays costs of the weekly departmental Speaker's Program in which distinguished speakers from around the country present their research to the department community; and assists in the acquisition of journals for the Earth Sciences Library and Map Collection. Donate online here to make a gift to this fund.

Field research is one of the most important experiences for students studying earth and planetary sciences, allowing them to put the knowledge they acquire in the classroom to practical use. Your support will give our students more access to field research opportunities through our summer field geology camp and more funding for critical digital mapping equipment.  Donate online here to make a gift to this fund

The Earth & Planetary Science Graduate Student Support Fund administers vital relief to our graduate students at the discretion of the department chair. Gifts to this fund will be used to enhance graduate education and research efforts in the department, such as student travel, research equipment, fellowships, and stipends. Our graduate program is recognized as one of the best in the country and support of our students allows us to maintain that tradition of excellence.  Donate online here to make a gift to this fund.
