I use diamond anvil cell experiments to study the thermal properties of planetary materials under extreme pressure-temperature conditions representative of deep planetary interiors. I'm currently considering when Earth's solid inner core nucleated, how Earth’s magnetic field might have persisted for billions of years before its nucleation, and the resulting impact on global planetary heat flow.
