Bio/CV:

Dr. Daria Holdenried-Chernoff is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at UC Berkeley, working with Prof. Bruce Buffett. She joined EPS as a Swiss National Science Foundation Postdoc Mobility Fellow. Daria’s research focuses on the development of theoretical models to study the evolution of Earth’s magnetic field over timescales relevant to the paleomagnetic record, as well as studying short timescale wave dynamics in Earth’s outer core. In 2024, Daria was awarded the Doornbos Memorial Prize by the Committee on Studies of the Earth’s Deep Interior (SEDI) for outstanding work on the Earth’s deep interior.
